NoCap, whose real name is Kobe Vidal Crawford Jr., is an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Mobile, Alabama. Born on 20 August 1998, he became known for a melodic style of Southern hip-hop that combines emotionally expressive vocals, rap storytelling and distinctive wordplay. NoCap began releasing music online in 2017 and gradually developed an audience through independent releases before gaining wider attention with projects such as Neighborhood Hero and The Backend Child. Songs including “Ghetto Angels” helped establish his reputation for writing about personal loss, relationships, ambition, street experiences and emotional struggles. Over the following years, NoCap expanded his catalogue through projects including The Hood Dictionary, Steel Human, Mr. Crawford and Before I Disappear Again, developing a recognizable identity within contemporary American melodic rap.
