Ritviz Biography

Ritviz, full name Ritviz Srivastava, is an Indian singer, songwriter, electronic musician, DJ and record producer known for blending Indian musical influences with contemporary electronic and pop production.

Born on 24 July 1996, Ritviz grew up with a strong foundation in Indian classical music. His distinctive combination of classical influences, electronic production, bass-heavy sounds and melodic Hindi vocals helped establish him as a prominent artist in India’s independent music scene.

Ritviz Music Career

Ritviz received training in Hindustani classical music from an early age while simultaneously developing an interest in electronic music, hip-hop and Western pop.

He released his early EP YUV in 2016. His career received wider attention after Udd Gaye, which emerged through the Bacardi House Party Sessions and became one of his breakthrough recordings.

Following Udd Gaye, Ritviz released several widely recognised songs including Jeet, Sage, Liggi, Barso and Thandi Hawa.

In 2022, he released his debut full-length album Mimmi. The album was named after and dedicated to his mother and classical music teacher, Anvita Bharti. Ritviz and his mother collaborated on the lyrics across the album.

Music Style

Ritviz’s music combines elements of Indian classical music, electronic music, Indian pop, dance music and contemporary independent music.

His classical training is an important part of his musical identity. Rather than separating traditional Indian influences from electronic production, Ritviz frequently brings the two together through Hindi vocals, melodic structures, electronic beats and bass-heavy arrangements.

This fusion is particularly recognisable in recordings such as Udd Gaye, Sage and Liggi.

Udd Gaye and Rise to Popularity

Udd Gaye became an important breakthrough in Ritviz’s career. The song combined melancholic Hindi lyrics with upbeat electronic production and helped introduce his distinctive musical style to a much larger audience.

The success of Udd Gaye was followed by a series of independent releases that helped Ritviz establish a substantial audience in India’s independent and electronic music scenes.

Awards & Achievements

Ritviz gained national recognition after winning the Bacardi House Party Sessions with Udd Gaye. The success of the track played an important role in expanding his audience across India.

He was subsequently included in Forbes India’s 30 Under 30, reflecting his growing influence in India’s independent music landscape.

His catalogue has continued to expand through singles, EPs, collaborations and his debut album Mimmi, while songs including Udd Gaye, Liggi and Sage remain among his most recognised recordings.
