Sadhana Sargam

Sadhana Sargam is an Indian playback singer known for her melodious voice and extensive contribution to Hindi and regional Indian music. Born as Sadhana Ghanekar on 7 March 1969 in Dabhol, Maharashtra, she developed an interest in music at an early age and went on to establish a career spanning several decades.

She has performed film songs, romantic melodies, classical-based compositions, devotional music, ghazals and regional songs. Her ability to sing across different musical styles and Indian languages has made her a familiar voice to generations of listeners.

Early Life and Musical Training

Sadhana Sargam grew up in a musical environment. Her mother was a classical singer and music teacher who introduced her to music at an early age.

As her musical abilities developed, Sadhana received further training under renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj. This classical foundation later became an important part of her versatility as a playback singer.

Sadhana Sargam established herself in Indian film music during the 1980s and subsequently became particularly prominent during the 1990s.
